Lead Business Analyst
CHF 135'000 – 155'000 / year
Vector8 is growing and we are looking for a Lead Business Analyst who combines analytical precision, client leadership, and technical depth. You will act as the vital link between business stakeholders and SMEs, and technical teams, translating the complex needs of businesses and their customers, into tangible, value led outcomes with AI at the core of the solution.
Responsibilities
- Clarifying the Vision: Work with businesses to understand the problem they are trying to solve, and establish what is causing this, so that appropriate solutions can be identified.
- Requirements Engineering: Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of requirements (functional & non-functional) for complex AI and data projects.
- Process & Data Modeling: Analyze current state (AS-IS) processes and design future state (TO-BE) data-driven workflows using industry standards (e.g., BPMN).
- User Focus: Keep the user at the heart of requirements working closely with UX and taking part in UR, when relevant.
- Bridge Business & Tech: Act as the primary translator between business stakeholders and data scientists/engineers, ensuring technical deliverables match business intent.
- Solution Shaping: Collaborate with Tech Leads and Architects to define solution designs, focusing on user needs, feasibility, suitability all while balancing costs with the expected benefit.
- Data Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis and data profiling to assess quality and feasibility before development begins.
- Backlog and Scope Management: Own the product backlog in agile setups; write high quality, comprehensive user storiesand manage prioritization. Control scope and negotiate as needed to protect delivery.
- Testing & Validation: Support the QA phase by validating model results against business metrics and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Adoption Support: Help train clients in new software and processesand provide user guides,ensuring successful adoption
- Pre-Sales Support: Contribute to proposals by identifying high-value use cases, scoping requirements, and estimating analytical efforts.
- Methodology: Continuously improve BA best practices (templates, workshops, documentation standards) within the company.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis or Requirements Engineering within a tech-enabled environment (Consulting experience is a strong plus).
- Solid grasp of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban /SAFe); certification (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and vice versa.
- Analytical skills: Confident and capable in running workshops and asking questions, to gather requirements at a low level of detail, maintaining engagement and utilising a range of BA techniques
- Technical Literacy: Ability to understand data models, API specifications, and recognise the importance of data quality to the success of a solution
- Fluent in German and English; French is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Swiss enterprise environment, ideally with a network or domain knowledge in Banking or Insurance.
- Formal BA certification (e.g., IREB, CBAP, or CCBA) is beneficial.
- Degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
- Comfortable working onsite with clients when needed, primarily within Switzerland.
