Data Scientist/ AI Engineer

We at Unique AI are building a highly secure generative AI platform, tailored for the financial sector. Utilizing AI, LLM, agentic and Skills technologies, we aim to revolutionize the Financial industry with an AI Automated workforce. Our mission is to increase efficiency, improve alpha, reduce risk, and increase quality across everything we do. We are now looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about building and evaluating vertical use cases in the Financial Services Industry on Unique's platform. You will work cross-functionally across our AI pods, joining them to help build features.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will focus on building and improving vertical use cases in the financial industry, helping us unlock the full potential of GenAI for our customers. You will embed in our AI pods and work closely with product and engineering to take on dedicated projects end-to-end: plan them, implement them in Python, build the evaluation flows and benchmarks that measure them, and deep-dive into the product to close quality gaps. You will share what you learn across pods so that every team ships to the same standard.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software products, including 2+ years building LLM-based products; experience in financial services (hedge funds, asset management, trading, or fintech) is a plus
• Agent harnesses and skills: Solid understanding of agent harnesses and skills, strong Python skills, and hands-on experience building vertical use cases and contributing to core platform components in production environments
• Evaluation and benchmarking: data-driven mindset with experience benchmarking agentic systems and building evaluation flows for skills, from test sets to regression checks
• Cross-functional product mindset: able to embed into different AI pods, deep-dive into the product and help build features; follows the product vision closely, brings a clear point of view on emerging AI systems, and is pragmatic in choosing solutions
• Communication: clear communication and documentation; comfortable working with technical and business stakeholders, including senior client representatives, and navigating ambiguity
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering) or equivalent demonstrated experience shipping production AI systems
