Data Scientist/ML Engineer im Team Economic Data Science 80-100%

The Economic Data Science unit creates economic analyses and forecasts to prepare monetary policy decisions. It also contributes to methodological innovations and the further development of data pipelines. We offer a position in an interdisciplinary team of economists and data scientists/ML engineers.

Your Tasks

• Development, provision, and maintenance of pipelines for data analysis tools, especially in the areas of Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Big Data
• Support for the team in the introduction and further development of new IT tools
• Contribution to the creation of forecasts and analyses for the preparation of monetary policy
• Participation in expert committees on IT and Data Science topics

Your Profile

• Master's or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with a quantitative focus
• Interest in forecasting, time series analysis, and monetary policy issues
• Experience in the development and provision of ML pipelines, ideally expertise in Data Engineering
• Proven knowledge in programming with Python
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices (Git, CI/CD platforms)
• Ideally experience with the Linux command line and distributed systems (Spark)
• Fluent in German or French as well as English
