Software Engineer, Safe Coding Team
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Preferred qualifications:
- 1 year of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
- Experience using, building, or contributing to developer ecosystems, package managers, and build system.
- Knowledge of software supply chain security issues, vulnerability management, or related fields.
- Active participation in open-source development, or working on projects with heavy open-source dependencies.
- A passion for designing seamless, intuitive developer experiences and workflows.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating cross-organizationally to deliver massive technical impact.

Safe Coding contributes to that mission by managing some of the biggest risks in software security. We innovate at scale by making secure coding effortless, for everyone. We are bootstrapping our presence in Asia-Pacific (APAC) by establishing a brand-new Singapore hub.
In this role, you will play a massive part in establishing our engineering culture and bringing innovation to our new location.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional software engineering. Dive into the codebase, build robust solutions, and be a foundational contributor.
- Partner closely with technical leads, product managers, and technical program managers to execute on the team's goal and bring our Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy to life.
- Stay on the rapidly developing agentic threat landscape and boldly embrace the dynamically changing AI environment. Move fast, write exceptional code, and think outside the box to engineer new solutions to old problems.
- Collaborate with partner teams in Google's Software Supply Chain Integrity program and engineering stakeholders to seamlessly integrate our security solutions.
