Senior Data Analytics Lead

Position Purpose

The Senior Data Analytics Lead is responsible for driving advanced analytics, data engineering, application development and AI solutions across TechOps. This role provides technical leadership for strategic data initiatives that improve operational performance, enable digital manufacturing and support data-driven decision making.

Data Engineering & Platform Leadership

• Design, build and maintain scalable enterprise data platforms and data products using Databricks, AWS and cloud-native technologies.
• Architect robust data pipelines for ingestion, transformation and delivery of structured and unstructured data.
• Establish data engineering standards, development frameworks and best practices across TechOps.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security and governance requirements.

Advanced Analytics, AI & Generative AI Solutions

• Lead the design and deployment of advanced analytics, machine learning and Generative AI solutions supporting TechOps objectives.
• Develop AI-enabled applications using LLMs and RAG frameworks.
• Establish monitoring, governance and lifecycle management practices for AI solutions.

Application Development & Digital Solutions

• Lead development of enterprise analytics applications using Python, React, Power BI and R Shiny.
• Design and develop APIs and integration services.
• Ensure modern engineering practices including testing and CI/CD.

Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute TechOps analytics and digital solution roadmaps.
• Lead complex cross-functional projects from concept through production deployment.
• Drive standardisation and reuse of analytics assets and frameworks.

People Leadership & Capability Building

• Mentor Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Analytics Developers.
• Conduct technical reviews and promote engineering excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

• Advanced experience with Databricks and cloud analytics platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Extensive experience designing scalable data pipelines and platforms.
• Experience developing enterprise applications and APIs.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Experience delivering AI or Generative AI solutions in production.
• Understanding of data governance, security and architecture principles.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Analytics or related discipline.
• 7-10+ years experience in data analytics, data engineering, software development or digital solution delivery.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional analytics initiatives.
• Experience in manufacturing, biotechnology or regulated industries preferred.
