Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect (SA) to join our thriving technical community and growing business in Switzerland. You will be part of the Financial Services Enterprise team, leading technical strategy and innovation across strategic financial services customers. As a senior member of our Solutions Architecture team, you'll drive transformational innovation for large enterprise financial services customers at the forefront of emerging technologies, guiding customers through their journey to adopt agentic AI workloads, generative AI applications, and intelligent automation that reshape how financial institutions operate and serve their customers.

In this role, you'll leverage the full breadth of AWS cloud technologies to design scalable, secure, and compliant architectures that accelerate digital transformation across multiple markets. You'll champion innovation by identifying opportunities to apply agentic systems, machine learning operations, and modern application patterns that deliver measurable business outcomes. Working closely with C-level executives and technical leaders across the region, you'll translate complex business challenges into cloud-native solutions that drive competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving financial services landscape.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll:

• Provide technical leadership to customers in Switzerland, taking ownership of strategic customer relationships and driving architectural excellence across the region.
• Provide expert recommendations on solution design, migration strategies, security, and best-practice architectures with a focus on modern cloud-native patterns and AI-driven innovation.
• Architect solutions that leverage agentic systems, machine learning operations, and intelligent automation to deliver measurable business outcomes and competitive advantage.
• Serve as a technical thought leader, mentoring Solutions Architects across the region and elevating the technical capabilities of the broader team.
• Act as an internal advocate, driving continuous improvements to the AWS platform based on customer needs and feedback, particularly in emerging areas like generative AI, agentic workloads, and industry-specific innovation.
• Contribute to the AWS knowledge base by creating and sharing best practices, technical content, new reference architectures, and reusable artifacts that advance the state of cloud adoption in financial services (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts on AI/ML implementations, agentic architecture patterns).
• Play a crucial role in educating and evangelizing about AWS technology and innovation through various channels, helping to expand our reach and influence across Europe Central (e.g., through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos, or conferences).
• Champion the adoption of transformative technologies including generative AI, agentic AI systems, and modern application architectures that enable financial institutions to innovate at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in specific technology domains (e.g. cloud architecture, systems design, software development, machine learning, or data engineering and analytics)
• 7+ years of experience as a developer, application architect, or technical leader at financial services companies (banking, capital markets, or fintech) or consulting
• Hands-on experience implementing generative AI, agentic AI, or machine learning solutions in an enterprise context
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks, LLM integration, and building intelligent autonomous agents
• Experience engaging with both business and IT decision-makers, including C-level stakeholders, driving strategic initiatives and innovation agendas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German or French, with business-fluent English
• Deep expertise with AWS technologies and cloud-native architectures, including serverless, containers, microservices patterns, and distributed systems
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing modern, scalable architectures that drive business transformation at enterprise scale
• Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder technical initiatives across multiple organisations or regions
• Proven track record of driving innovation and adopting emerging technologies in production environments
• Strong understanding of financial services regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks across multiple markets
• Cloud technology certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional) or other industry certifications
