Role Description

The AI Solution Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Zug, Switzerland. The individual in this role will design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions that support AECOM's infrastructure and engineering projects, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical architectures.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Building and integrating AI models and software components
• Preparing technical demonstrations and proofs of concept
• Collaborating with consulting and presales teams to shape solution proposals
• Supporting client-facing engagements by explaining AI capabilities in clear business terms
• Participating in solution workshops
• Ensuring successful integration of AI tools into existing workflows and systems
• Monitoring solution performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to continuous improvement, documentation, and best practices for AI adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong Software Development skills, including experience with AI/ML frameworks, APIs, and modern programming languages.
• Consulting and Presales experience, with the ability to gather requirements, design solution architectures, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Sales and client engagement skills to support proposal development, demos, and solution presentations aligned with client needs.
• Integration experience, including connecting AI solutions with existing enterprise systems, data platforms, and engineering tools.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience delivering AI or data-driven solutions in infrastructure, engineering, or related industries is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with a focus on solution reliability and scalability.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly in English; additional languages are a plus.

• Whiteboard Interview: 1-hour with 2 of our engineers to discuss your solution to the take-home challenge (60 min)
